Good news for the environment and consumers!
Last week the European Parliament and the Council have reached a provisional agreement on new rules to ban generic environmental claims and other misleading marketing tricks.
The new rules aim to protect consumers from misleading practices and help them make better purchasing decisions. In particular, unverified environmental claims without any evidence of outstanding environmental performance in relation to the claim will be banned.
With the directive environmental claims need to be verified by third-party experts such as certification bodies based on independent and transparently developed certification-schemes.
At DIN CERTCO, we have been testing, certifying, and registering a wide range of products, services, qualified enterprises, and persons in accordance with national and international standards for over 50 years. We are committed to creating trust among consumers and companies. If you have any questions about our certifications in the environmental field, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via the contact form on our website.
