Eye Protection

For us, the testing and assessment of eye protection equipment has a long tradition. DIN CERTCO has been testing and assessing eye protection equipment already since 1935 (at that time still as part of the DIN German Institute for Standardisation e.V.) and is today the competent contact partner for industry and commerce. The DIN CERTCO Testing Centre for Eye Protection in Nuremberg (PZA) is among the world's leading institutions for the testing and certification of eye protectors of all kinds.

As an eye protection manufacturer, you would like to establish your products within the single European market. As an international service provider, we can assist you with our testing and certification marks, which stand for safety and quality.

Our clients benefit from our expertise and from our many years of experience in eye protection. As a member of the TÜV Rheinland Group, we also have access to an international network, which allows us to extend our knowledge continuously and to put it to use for your benefit.

With over 1000 client-specific product tests and certifications a year in the areas of eye protection and optical products speak for us and our competence.

British market access: Get your UKCA mark

After Great Britain's withdrawal from the EU, a new conformity marking is now required – the UCKA marking. It will replace the previous European CE marking and will be used for products that are being sold in Great Britain.

There is a transition period, also called “standstill period”, from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021. Products can carry both the CE and UKCA markings as long as they fully comply with both UK and EU requirements.

Starting 1 January 2022, the UKCA mark must be displayed on products. In order to reduce the impact on businesses, the UKCA mark may optionally be affixed to the product or an accompanying document by using a label. However, this will be accepted only until 31 December 2022. After this date, the mark must be affixed directly to the product (unless the applicable regulations provide for other options).

Manufacturers and distributors should address the issue as soon as possible. As an internationally operating testing service provider, DIN CERTCO is at your side and supports you in dealing with the new regulations.

Do you need support with marketing your products or do you have any questions?
