Recognition for Testing Laboratories - Transition to the current DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-03

Testing Laboratory

The basis for recognition as a DIN CERTCO testing laboratory is the international standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories".

This has been revised and is available in the current version of 2018-03. There is still a transitional period until the end of 2020 for the application of the previous edition.

As a certification body, DIN CERTCO is also obliged to update the testing laboratories we use to the currently valid version of the standard by this time. DIN CERTCO does the best to reduce the effort required for this to the minimum necessary for our recognised testing laboratories.

Which steps are necessary? In order to update our recognition and transit to the new standard, DIN CERTCO requires a copy of the new accreditation certificate including the attachments no later than 2020-10-31.

In case that the recognised testing laboratory does not want to apply for accreditation, DIN CERTCO will convince itself by a document review and/or an on-site audit of testing competence and implementation on the current standard.

As a documented action plan, DIN CERTCO requires the completed EUROLAB-D "cookbook" by 30.06.2020, which can be downloaded from our website. Depending on this, DIN CERTCO examines the necessity for an on-site audit.
