Previously, a wide range of certification bodies around the world were authorised, regardless of their location, to issue the Certificate of Conformity for Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabia standards body Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) has resolved to reduce the number of approved certification bodies.

Since mid-October 2008, DIN CERTCO has been a SASO-appointed assessment body in Germany with the authority to issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC = Certificate of Conformity) for Saudi Arabia.

News of the Saudi-Arabian authorities: Energy efficiency labeling will be mandatory from April 2010 for Air-conditioners, washing machines and refrigerators.

A large number of the commodities exported from Germany to Saudi Arabia require a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) as proof of conformity with Saudi Arabian regulations. These certificates have to be presented to the Saudi customs authorities at the point of import into Saudi Arabia.

In general, the Certificate of Conformity is to be issued for each delivery.
